Google Confirms Issues With New Video Uploads in Google My Business
On 12 Jan 2018, Allyson Wright from the Google My Business team announced that new feature that uploading videos is available for business owners in the Google My Business dashboard.
The Business owners can “Upload videos about their business for customers to view and customers can also upload videos which business owners can also view”. The uploading video maximum length is 30 seconds, and after a video is uploaded, it can take up to 24 hours for it to be visible on the business listing in Google Maps or the local web search results. Google also promised mobile support for this feature.
If you want to add video to your Google my business, go to your dashboard and click on the “photos,” then select the “video” link at the top. After it loads, select the option to “Post Videos.”
After Uploading video, it can take some time for the video to process and show up in the view.
Google My Business team also added these details:
The uploaded videos will appear on the overview tab of the Google my business dashboard.
1. The customers uploaded videos found in “Customer tab”.
2. The merchant uploaded videos found in “by owner tab”.
3. After uploading the videos, it could take up to 24 hours for the videos to appear. Once they are live, they will display where local photos do.
But on 18 Jan 2018, Google has confirmed the issues with new video uploads i.e, they are experiencing issues with video uploads, those are not even showing almost a week later.
The Google My Business team posted on Twitter that there is an issue that they are working on addressing. They twitted, “we’re experiencing an issue with video uploads but the videos team is already aware and working on it.” They also stated that, let everyone know when the issue is resolved.
Google my business team also posted on Twitter that “The videos team was able to get this fixed and you should be able to add videos again”.
